Furuhælvetica is an ongoing project involving work by 11 designers showing experimentations with the wood material pine. The project started with a five days workshop in the woods of Norway where we tried to find new ways to use this traditional material, and reasons why.
From the start of the workshop in August 2009, an exhibition in September and a second exhibition at the Norwegian Centre for Design and Architecture (DogA) in 2010, the project gained momentum from the Norwegian press and was later showed at Designers Block in London in 2010.
Furuhælvetica also participated with a performance at Friday Late at Victoria and Albert Museum, London in 2010.
The experimentations are done by Bjørn Jørund Blikstad, Marte Frøystad, Runa Klock, Andrè Sipila, Sigurd Strøm, Lars Hole, Signe Solberg, Birgitte Bjørge, Elisabeth Bjørge and Øyvind Blikstad.
The project is initiated and organized by Bjørn Jørund Blikstad, Marte Frøystad and Runa Klock.
